Kurketrekker Corkscrew
Kurketrekker CorkscrewKurketrekker Corkscrew In the world today some of our best products have names, which are out of the ordinary. The Kurketrekker Corkscrew is one of those products. What is ironic about the Kurketrekker Corkscrew is the twist of its name (pun intended). While doing my research on the Kurketrekker Corkscrew, I learned an interesting fact about the name Kurketrekker. The name Kurketrekker was found to have only a single definition. That definition is a corkscrew. So in essence when you say or write Kurketrekker Corkscrew you are saying the same word twice, only in two different languages. Ain't that cool? In an earlier installment I reviewed the Homer Simpson Bottle Openers. What made these openers unique was the fact they were talking bottle openers. As I did the research for Homer Simpson, I saw that there were others that did talking as well. I saw several sports teams, Betty Boop, and Family Guy there. I must confess that one talking opener I did not see was a Beavis and Butthead version. Personally I think it would be neat to have a talking bottle opener that said how much things suck. I also saw some pocket versions of corkscrews that could easily be used as keychains and taken on golf outings. There's even a new type of openers called the zap cap, which is geared toward beer drinkers. I'd venture to say that there are as many different type corkscrews and openers out there as there are wines, possibly even more. Depending on your own personal taste you may opt for a metal one of either a brass or silver finish. These are just a few of the styles available to you. The type we are going to look at in this review is the Kurketrekker Corkscrew. The Kurketrekker Corkscrew is another in a line of openers that is similar in nomenclature to the Waiter's Friend Corkscrew. The Kurketrekker Corkscrew is one of the most popular in the lever-pull corkscrews available today. The course of my research showed that most places were sold out of the unit at the time. I did determine that the price range on these is fairly reasonable. The lowest priced Kurketrekker was selling for approximately eleven dollars. The higher priced version was almost twenty dollars. In comparison to other type corkscrews and openers this is a bargain. It is a close counterpart to the Rabbit Corkscrew, but this is a much more expensive item with prices ranging from just below thirty dollars to slightly over fifty dollars or more. With variety such as this available to you there is no reason why you shouldn't have at least one good corkscrew or opener at your disposal any time you are to have guests. If you keep the wine flowing plentifully you'll keep your party flowing smoothly. Just remember though, as you keep an eye on their glasses to make sure they stay full, be sure that you also keep an eye on your guest so you can cut them off when they've had too much. Make sure that all have designated drivers or rides waiting. |
