Waiter's Friend Corkscrew

This is something you most likely will see in one of the finer restaurants. A waiter's going from table to table quicker than a rabbit. He has a corkscrew in hand and a bottle of wine. He pulls out his trusty Waiter's Friend Corkscrew, pops the cork, and is off again having disappeared like houdini. As you watch him open your wine with the corkscrew, you think to yourself... I wish I had a corkscrew like that. Well now it is possible for everyone to have one of his or her own - a waiter's friend corkscrew.

During the course of my research I viewed sites that had different varieties of the Waiters Friend Corkscrew. The first site I visited gave me a bit of sticker shock. The corkscrew they offered was a deluxe set in leather pack that could be placed on your belt. This set was almost two hundred twenty-five dollars. The next site I went to was much more reasonable. The design they offered was a pocket edition that cost less than ten dollars.

Both of these corkscrew designs have their good points and bad points. The deluxe set although more expensive has the good points of being professional in appearance as well as portable. This is better suited for usage indoors for an old-fashioned type dinner. The pocket edition is portable as well, but seems better suited for outings and picnics on the grass. Both of the waiter's friend corkscrew listed above have an optional foil cutter incorporated in their design. The decision you will need to make when buying one of these is do you get the old school deluxe set, or the new school pocket edition, or maybe both?

If neither of these designs appeals to you then perhaps something that is in the middle would. The Rabbit Corkscrew is a variant on the Waiter's Friend corkscrew. It boasts of being able to pop corks out toot sweet. The pricing on this unit varies. A simple one that might be carried in the pocket runs in the neighborhood of fifty dollars. The more deluxe set can be as high as just below one hundred sixty dollars. So if the waiter's friend corkscrew is not for you, perhaps the rabbit is. Either one is fine for pulling corks out in a fast manner.

The design you choose depends on several factors. Will the corkscrew be used in a professional type setting? Will it be in a formal or casual atmosphere? How much are you willing to spend on a corkscrew? Are you getting one for yourself of is this a gift for someone? With all the designs out there to choose from there's no way you can make the wrong choice. If you take the time and select wisely then there will only be a few more questions you'll need to answer.... Red or White? Sangria or Zinfandel? Merlot or Chablis? The choices are virtually without an end. With the right wine and the right corkscrew your dinner parties will be a success.
